Where Are They Going?

"The drunk on the street, the rich in the palaces
The poor and unlearned and the men of degree
They all have a soul in need of salvation
And they all have to come by Calvary"

Have you ever been sitting at a restaurant and noticed a family across the room, happily enjoying each other, and laughing as they left the building on out the door? Or has the countless cars turning past you at a red light caused you to ponder their destination? The young man filling up his truck at the gas pump, the mother going into the grocery store with all her kids in tow, or the business man, nicely dressed walking through town - where are they all going?
Although their immediate destination is interesting, I'm talking about their final and permanent dwelling place. Will it be Heaven or Hell? Have they heard that there is a God who loved them so much that He sent His Son to die for them that they might have eternal life?
The young man covered in tattoos drinking on Friday night to forget his troubles, Jesus died for him. The lady, whose life has been filled with trouble, Jesus died for her. The older man, whose life has been "successful," Jesus died for him. The homosexual, the young mother, the politician, the prostitute, the celebrity - Jesus died for all of them.
So next time you are out shopping, eating, or filling your car with gas - look more deeply at those passing you on their way. Look past the nice car, the scars, and the seemingly happiness - where are they going... FOREVER?
